Founded by Rachele Wiggins in 2019, SILENT ASSASSIN FILMS is an emerging genre production company dedicated to bold, original storytelling that champions collaboration between emerging and established creatives. The company is committed to amplifying diverse voices and perspectives on a global scale, developing emotionally resonant stories that are as commercially compelling as they are distinctive.
Silent Assassin's first major production, DEADHOUSE DARK, was developed in collaboration with Deadhouse Films with the support of Screen Australia. The Shudder Original anthology series - comprising six unique horror stories from six emerging filmmakers - premiered at CANNESERIES before debuting on Shudder in 2021.
During the pandemic, the company pivoted to developing an international slate, joining forces with Moonlight Fox and Paper Street Pictures to produce the segment WE'RE SO DEAD for SCARE PACKAGE II, a Shudder Original anthology feature. The film had its world premiere at FrightFest London 2022 before its Shudder release in 2023.
The company's current development slate spans features, series and short films. The psychological horror feature METHOD TO MADNESS has received development funding from Screen Australia and ScreenNSW. In addition, founder Rachele Wiggins has re-teamed with screenwriter Duncan Samarasinghe (WOLF CREEK: LEGACY) on two original screenplays - WE ALL DIE SCREAMING and THE SKY BELOW, the latter of which recently secured Screen Australia development funding.
In the series space, Silent Assassin has partnered with producer, writer, and director Denai Gracie (CRASHOUT, IT WILL FIND YOU) to develop THE HABITAT, a mystery action-thriller series, and THE SURGE, a supernatural horror series. The company is also collaborating with Croatian filmmakers Luka Hrgovic and Dino Julius on a spinoff series expanding the world of their award-winning sci-fi short SLICE OF LIFE, which won best Sci-Fi at the Oscar accredited LA Shorts Festival, screened in official selection at Sitges and has had more than 1 million views worldwide (see link below to short film).
